Overview
Patricia C. Wrede's Lyra novels are five loosely linked fantasies set on a world called Lyra: Shadow Magic (1982), Daughter of Witches (1983), The Harp of Imach Thyssel (1985), Caught in Crystal (1987) and The Raven Ring (1994). Each book takes place in a different land and has its own cast, so they can be read in any order. In the story's internal chronology, Caught in Crystal and The Raven Ring come first, much earlier than the other three, which share a time period but different nations. A timeline and world history in the 1997 omnibus Shadows over Lyra tie the setting together.
