Synopsis
Shadowheart is the fourth and final novel in the Shadowmarch quartet, following Shadowrise. Barrick Eddon, partly transformed by his time among the Qar, must decide where his true loyalties now lie, while his twin sister Briony faces an impossible choice of her own: their father, King Olin, is held prisoner by a tyrannical god-king who intends to use his blood to seize ultimate power, and their murderous cousin Hendon Tolly controls their family's castle in their absence. As mortals, fairies, and gods alike are drawn into the widening conflict, the fate of the known world comes to rest on choices neither sibling is fully prepared to make.
