Synopsis
Siege and Storm picks up with Alina Starkov and Mal in hiding across the True Sea in the port town of Cofton, attempting to stay ahead of those pursuing her after the events of the first novel. Their fragile refuge collapses when the Darkling and his soldiers track them down, forcing Alina and Mal to flee back toward Ravka and set out along the perilous Bone Road in search of another of Morozova's amplifiers, artifacts believed capable of magnifying her power as the Sun Summoner. As Alina is pulled deeper into the political and magical struggle she had hoped to escape, she finds herself torn between her growing desire for the power needed to protect her country and her longing for an ordinary life with Mal, a tension that shapes every choice she makes as old and new enemies close in around her.

- Internal chronology, within The Grishaverse: position 4 of 7: previous King of Scars (2019) · next Crooked Kingdom (2016)
