Synopsis
Skavenslayer (1999) is the second novel in William King's Gotrek and Felix series, continuing directly from events at the close of Trollslayer. The dwarf Slayer Gotrek Gurnisson and his chronicler, Felix Jaeger, arrive in the Imperial city of Nuln and take work as sewer-jacks, a job that leads them to uncover a conspiracy involving ratmen skaven and a corrupt city official operating beneath the streets. After losing that position, the pair find employment as tavern bouncers while, unknown to most of the city's inhabitants, a large skaven army gathers in the tunnels below Nuln. Several rival skaven factions, each following its own scheming commander, move against the city using poison, assassins, stolen devices, and engineered plague, and Gotrek and Felix are repeatedly drawn into thwarting these schemes as the true scale of the threat to Nuln becomes clear.

Notes
- From the series record (Gotrek and Felix): A seven-novel tie-in sword-and-sorcery sequence (1999-2003) for a tabletop miniatures-game setting, following a dwarf monster-slayer and his human chronicler. The founding author's run is treated as its own complete, self-contained sequence; the same characters were later continued by several other, different authors in books not catalogued here.
