Synopsis
Sorcerers of Majipoor opens a new cycle within the Majipoor series, set generations before the era of Lord Valentine, and follows young Prince Prestimion of Muldemar as he is drawn into the elaborate political maneuvering surrounding the selection of the next Coronal. Competing candidates, rival houses, and the deep influence of sorcery and prophecy on Majipoori politics complicate what should be an orderly succession, and Prestimion finds himself contending with ambitious rivals whose schemes threaten both his prospects and the stability of the realm. As he navigates courtly intrigue, alliances, and the machinations of those who would see him fail, Prestimion begins to reveal the qualities of leadership and resolve that will define his future. The novel establishes the Lord Prestimion Cycle's cast and stakes, exploring how power is won and contested on Majipoor generations before Valentine's own rise.
