Synopsis
In this standalone Black Jewels novel, Surreal SaDiablo and others receive an invitation that appears to come from Jaenelle Angelline, drawing them to an unfamiliar house. Once inside, the door disappears and Surreal realizes she is trapped in an elaborate snare woven from Black Widow craft, where any use of defensive magic risks entangling her permanently. It soon becomes clear that Jaenelle never sent the invitation at all, meaning someone within the Blood has built this deadly trap specifically to ensnare the SaDiablo family. As Jaenelle and her kin work to free those caught inside without triggering the web themselves, they must also uncover who among their own kind is responsible for constructing such a dangerous and personal threat.
