Synopsis
The Fiery Heart is the fourth installment in Richelle Mead's Bloodlines series. The story picks up with Alchemist Sydney Sage openly acknowledging her feelings for the Moroi royal Adrian Ivashkov and beginning a relationship the Alchemists would consider a grave betrayal, all while Sydney's younger sister Zoe arrives in Palm Springs, ostensibly to help but really to monitor her. Told through alternating perspectives, the novel follows Sydney as she embraces the human witchcraft she has been secretly studying, and Adrian as he grapples with troubling side effects of the rare spirit magic he wields, amid mounting pressure from both the Alchemists and the Moroi society that surrounds them.
