Synopsis

A document describing a supernatural entity called the Eater of Souls goes missing, and so does Bob Howard's enigmatic boss, James Angleton. Bob has to find both while cultists loyal to Nyarlathotep, some of them double agents inside the Laundry itself, close in on him. When the cult captures Bob and tries to bind the Eater of Souls into his body, the plan founders on a secret the agency has kept for decades: the entity was bound into Angleton long ago and has come to share the Laundry's goals. Bob survives by raising the dead against the cultists. The novel is an homage to Anthony Price's spy thrillers.
