Synopsis

The Ikessar Falcon, published by K.S. Villoso in 2020, is the second novel of the Chronicles of the Wolf Queen, continuing directly from Queen Talyien's disastrous journey abroad in the first book. Stranded far from home and effectively abandoned by the people she once ruled, Talyien uncovers a sinister plot threatening both her husband's position and the safety of their young son. Facing creatures out of nightmare, corrupted dragons, and rivals hungry for power, she must find a way back into a fight she never wanted, navigating treachery on every side. Central to her struggle is her own legacy: as the daughter of the warlord Yeshin and a living symbol of a hard-won peace, Talyien must decide how far she will go, and what she will sacrifice, to hold her divided nation together with dwindling allies.

Notes

  • From the series record (Chronicles of the Wolf Queen): A single continuous trilogy following Queen Talyien of Jin-Sayeng. Publication years follow the trilogy's wide, traditionally-published Orbit edition; the author had earlier self-published the same three novels in 2017-2018 under slightly different titles/text before the Orbit re-edit, a detail noted here rather than silently resolved.

Neighbouring works

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
