Synopsis

The Immortals is set five hundred years into the Edge Chronicles' third age of flight, when mighty phraxships ply trade between the world's three great cities. It follows Nate Quarter, a young Lamplighter working the Eastern Woods' mines, whose place in this reshaped world is far removed from that of the earlier sky pirates and librarian knights. As Nate is drawn out of the mines and into a wider journey of self-discovery, he is swept through tournaments, battles and political upheaval that test him in ways his quiet origins never prepared him for. The novel is designed to serve as a culmination of the earlier Quint, Twig and Rook sagas while remaining approachable for readers new to the series, building toward Nate's eventual encounter with the beings known as the Immortals.
