Synopsis

The seventh and concluding novel of the main Witcher saga opens with the world at the height of the war between Nilfgaard and the Northern Kingdoms, while Ciri remains lost to those searching for her, having passed into the world of the Aen Elle elves. There the sage Avallac'h reveals to her that as the last descendant of the sorceress Lara Dorren, she carries a rare magical lineage that could determine the outcome of a prophesied catastrophe, and pressure mounts on her regarding her role among the elves and their king, Auberon. On the Continent, Geralt and his companions continue their desperate search for her while Yennefer, held captive by the sorcerer Vilgefortz, is interrogated for information about Ciri's whereabouts.

Notes

  • Saga #5, conclusion.
  • From the series record (The Witcher): Reading order: collections first (official superNOWA numbering), then the 5-novel saga, then standalones. Polish and English publication orders both differ from reading order.

Neighbouring works

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
