Synopsis
Some weeks after the events of the earlier volume Interesting Times, the wizard Rincewind finds himself magically flung onto the remote, drought-stricken continent of Fourecks, where a talking kangaroo named Scrappy informs him that he is somehow destined to bring back the rain. At the same time, back at Unseen University, the senior wizards are trying to cure the Librarian, an orangutan who has developed the alarming habit of transforming into random nearby objects whenever he sneezes, and their search for a remedy leads them to set off after Rincewind, hoping his long association with the Librarian holds a clue.
