Synopsis
Cohen the Barbarian and his fellow elderly adventurers, the Silver Horde, set out on what they intend as one final legendary quest: climbing to Cori Celesti, home of the Discworld's gods, to return the stolen fire of the old hero Fingers Mazda by detonating a vast quantity of explosive Agatean Thunder Clay at its peak. When Lord Vetinari learns that the wizards believe such an explosion could unravel the Disc's magical field and destroy the world, he commissions the inventor Leonard of Quirm to build a makeshift spacecraft, crewed by the reluctant wizard Rincewind and Watch captain Carrot Ironfoundersson, to reach the gods first and head off the Horde's plan. With the Silver Horde already well advanced on their climb, the outmatched rescue crew must catch up before the aging heroes complete their reckless act of ultimate revenge against the gods.
