Synopsis
Luneta is a restless girl from dull Orkney who longs for more excitement than her parents' home can offer. When she gets a chance to stay at a family friend's castle near Camelot, she jumps at it. Her cousin, the young knight Sir Ywain, escorts her to Arthur's court and picks up Rhience on the way, a knight who has sworn to act the fool for a year and whose wit deflates pompous people. At Camelot they hear of the Storm Stone, a magical object deep in a forest that draws people into a web of love, betrayal and enchantment. Luneta's meddling has real consequences. The novel adapts a twelfth-century romance by Chretien de Troyes.
