Overview
The Squire's Tales is a ten-novel Arthurian series by Gerald Morris, published by Houghton Mifflin between 1998 and 2010. It is aimed at preteen and teen readers and set in medieval England, mixing retellings of traditional legends such as Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Tristan and Iseult with original plots. The early books follow Terence, an orphan raised in the woods who becomes squire to Sir Gawain; later volumes centre on other characters, including Piers, Lynet, Dinadan, Luneta and Sarah, while Arthur, Gawain and Terence recur. Each novel can be read on its own, but the stories form one continuous world and the final book brings the Camelot story to its close.
