Synopsis
Young Sarah is looking for a knight who encouraged villagers to burn her mother and her Jewish foster-father, and she wants revenge. Her search soon crosses with another when she sees Queen Guinevere carried off by the brutal Sir Meliagant. She joins Sir Gawain, his unusual squire Terence and a scruffy loner who is more than he appears, and the group pursues Meliagant towards his enchanted castle. On the way Sarah meets an old woman with a secret, loyal friends, complicated villains and capable women, and she begins to question what vengeance would actually give her. The novel is the sixth in the series and adapts the Arthurian story of Guinevere's abduction.
