Synopsis
The Night of the Swarm, published by Robert V. S. Redick in 2012, concludes the Chathrand Voyage. Having defeated the sorcerer Arunis, Pazel, Thasha, Neeps, and the rest of the Chathrand's company discover that his downfall has not ended the danger he set in motion: the Swarm of Night he unleashed is a semi-sentient, deadly mass capable of spreading until it blots out the sky across the whole of Alifros. As the ship's company races to contain the catastrophe, each of the young protagonists carries a private struggle into the final crisis, Pazel with his dangerous gift for languages, Thasha with the demands the world keeps placing on her will, and Neeps with a spreading spell-plague eating away at his sense of self. The novel brings the series' central voyage to its climax as external catastrophe and personal cost converge.
