Synopsis
The concluding volume of the Rose of the Prophet trilogy opens with a war among the gods of Sularin spilling over ever more directly into the mortal world, as Akhran and his fellow desert deities work to check the ambitions of the tyrannical Quar before he can subjugate every tribe under his rule. Khardan, Zohra, and the wizard Mathew, having endured captivity and hardship in the previous volume, must now navigate the shifting loyalties of human factions and gods alike, their earlier reluctant alliance tested by both battlefield stakes and their own tangled feelings for one another. As politics, faith, and open warfare converge across the desert tribes, the fate of Sularin comes to rest on whether Khardan, Zohra, and Mathew can hold together long enough to see Akhran's cause through to its end.
