Synopsis

The Red Wolf Conspiracy, published by Robert V. S. Redick in 2008, opens the Chathrand Voyage on the world of Alifros. The Imperial Merchant Ship Chathrand, the last of an ancient and legendary fleet, sets sail on what is presented as a diplomatic mission: delivering a young noblewoman, Thasha Isiq, into a marriage meant to seal a fragile peace between the empire of Arqual and its old enemy, the Mzithrin. Aboard are a sadistic captain, a scheming ambassador, and Pazel Pathkendle, a tarboy cursed and gifted with an uncontrollable talent for languages. As the voyage proceeds, Pazel, Thasha, and their allies begin to uncover a darker conspiracy hidden beneath the peace mission, a plot that threatens to reawaken an old, buried evil and plunge both empires into war rather than prevent it.
