Synopsis
The Treasured One continues the Dreamers series after the initial invasion repelled in The Elder Gods, shifting the focus to the domain of the Elder God Veltan, where the servants of the Vlagh have evolved new and more dangerous forms for a second assault. Complicating the defense, an expedition sent by a corrupted church from the Trogite Empire arrives hoping to plunder Dhrall's riches for itself, entangling its own ambitions with the ongoing war against the Vlagh without fully understanding what it has stumbled into. The mercenary captains and Dreamers introduced in the first book must adapt their strategy to this new front and this new, uninvited faction, continuing the series' pattern of successive invasions each met by the combined ingenuity of mortal soldiers and prophetic dreams.
