Synopsis
In the twelfth book of The Hollows series, Rachel Morgan has managed to stop the demonic ever after from shrinking further, but the victory came at a steep cost, and Cincinnati now faces a new and disorienting threat: strange magic is causing spells across the city to malfunction unpredictably. The instability destabilizes the delicate truce between Inderlanders and humans, and grows more dangerous still when vampire masters, who keep the undead population under control, begin to be eliminated by the disturbance. Without their leadership, all-out supernatural war looms, and Rachel is pushed toward turning to ancient, unpredictable elven wild magic in a bid to stop the attacks before the city tears itself apart.
