Synopsis
The second book of the Chanters of Tremaris trilogy picks up Calwyn's journey with her companions from the first novel. They meet Heben, an exiled prince whose younger siblings have been taken and imprisoned simply for being born with magical abilities, and he recruits Calwyn's group to help him find and free them. The mission carries them across the harsh desert region of Merithuros, a land very different from the icebound Antaris Calwyn grew up in, as they track down where the missing children are being held and search for a way to rescue them from captivity. Along the way, the group's search brings them back into contact with Darrow, the chanter who first drew Calwyn out of Antaris, as the wider dangers facing magically gifted children across Tremaris become clearer.
