Synopsis
The White Road picks up soon after the events of Shadows Return, with Seregil and Alec hoping to return to their ordinary work as spies for the crown after surviving enslavement. Instead they find themselves responsible for Sebrahn, the strange, prophesied "child of no woman" born out of the previous book's events, whose unnatural powers make him a target for multiple dangerous factions. As word of Sebrahn's existence spreads, Seregil and Alec are forced to flee across hostile territory, pursued by enemies who each want the mysterious being for their own purposes, testing both their partnership and the fragile trust that has grown around the boy they have come to protect.
