Synopsis
The Will of the Wanderer opens the Rose of the Prophet trilogy as the desert god Akhran, alarmed by the growing power of Quar, a rival god of reality, greed, and law bent on enslaving the desert tribes, orders an unlikely marriage meant to unite two of his most stubborn followers against the common threat. The headstrong Prince Khardan and the equally impetuous Princess Zohra are forced into that unwanted union as their respective peoples come under mounting pressure from Quar's expanding influence, a threat neither of them can outrun no matter how fiercely they resist the marriage itself. Accompanied by the reluctant wizard Mathew, an outsider swept up in the desert tribes' troubles, Khardan and Zohra must set aside their mutual contempt for each other long enough to face a danger that has already begun reshaping the world of Sularin around them.
