Synopsis
Vredesverk continues the Chronicle of the Fifth Conflux across several converging threads in a Trakorien fractured by internal conflict and now facing the external threat of the antagonist Ransard. The outlaw general Praanz da Kaelve, operating from the wilderness, unexpectedly gains help in pursuing vengeance against his enemies in the capital, while on the island of Stegos, a two-hundred-year curse finally breaks, freeing Arn Dunkelbrink to take flight once more on his dragon Blatifagus. Elsewhere, the sentient, tree-formed vessel Irminsul carries the wind witch Silvia Miranda, drifting across the ocean and drawing strange creatures to itself as its passengers work to save the fifth conflux from the sorcerer Shagul's scheme to steal its power, testing whether Silvia has prepared enough during her time away to face the dangers now converging on her.
