Overview
Krönikan om den femte konfluxen (The Chronicle of the Fifth Conflux) is a completed Swedish epic-fantasy quartet of novels by Erik Granström, published by Ersatz: Svavelvinter (2004), Slaktare små (2011), Vredesverk (2014), and Vanderland (2016), set in a war-torn secondary world. The series draws on Nordic and Central European folklore and military history to build a bleak, war-focused setting where the quartet's title conflux, a recurring alignment of magical forces, shapes the timing and stakes of the conflicts its characters are drawn into across the four books. The first novel's setting was also used for an unrelated tabletop role-playing game line published separately by other credited authors, which is not part of this admission. The quartet remains one of the more prominent Swedish-language epic fantasy works to reach a wider Nordic readership over its more than decade-long publication run.
