Synopsis
Firekeeper is still new to human politics when three powerful magical artifacts are stolen by Queen Valora. The theft overshadows the wedding of Princess Sapphire and Prince Shad, which nearly ends in an assassination. Lady Melina Shield, who wants the artifacts to increase her own power, leaves her daughter Citrine as a hostage with Baron Endbrook and sets out in pursuit. Firekeeper, her wolf companion Blind Seer and their allies must decide what to do with the artifacts and how to deal with those who want them. Along the way a new kingdom, Bright Haven, begins to form, and the people around Firekeeper are tested by the consequences of the theft.
