Overview
Nancy Springer's two young adult Arthurian novels retell the legend of Camelot from the side of figures usually cast as villains. I Am Mordred (1998) follows Arthur's son and nephew, raised in isolation and set against the fate foretold for him. I Am Morgan le Fay (2001) follows the sorceress from a neglected, willful child in war-torn England, through her fairy heritage and magic, toward the destiny she resists. Both were published by Philomel Books and carry the subtitle A Tale from Camelot; the second is a follow-up to the first. No further volumes have been announced.
