Overview
M. L. But magic has a cost, and the collectors have come calling. Sciona, the first woman admitted to the High Magistry, and Thomil, a refugee from the tribes beyond the barrier assigned to her as a janitor, uncover an ancient secret behind the city's power, in a story of power, corruption and complicity. It was first self-published in 2023 and became a New York Times bestseller in its Del Rey edition.
