Overview
Jiří Kulhánek's Noční klub (The Night Club) is a Czech dark fantasy duology published in 2002 and 2003. It follows Tobias, who was raised in Prague by a secret group of vigilantes, the Night Club, that punishes criminals the law does not reach. After an attack nearly destroys the group, Tobias is turned into a vampire and held on a pirate ship in Southeast Asia. In the second novel he wears a supernatural armour called the Demon Shadow and travels from Prague through the South China Sea to Tokyo to rescue friends held by a hidden race. The two parts form one continuous story. No other Kulhánek novels are listed as sharing this world.
