Overview

Meredith Ann Pierce's Darkangel Trilogy is an epic fantasy told through the servant girl Aeriel. When her mistress Eoduin is carried off by a darkangel, a black-winged vampyre of astounding beauty gathering brides for a curse-bound purpose, Aeriel follows and is taken herself, not to be his bride but to serve his thirteen wives, wraiths whose souls he stole, and to tend the starving gargoyles he keeps. She must choose between destroying him for his evil deeds or saving him for the spark of goodness she has seen in him; in the later books, pursued by the White Witch and her remaining darkangels, she seeks the lons, the ancient guardians of the world's kingdoms, and the pearl that may save the world. The Darkangel was an ALA Best Book for Young Adults and a Mythopoeic Award finalist.
