Overview
David A. Robertson’s six-book middle-grade fantasy (2020 to 2025), often described as a Narnia-inspired Indigenous saga, follows Morgan and Eli, two Indigenous foster children living with a foster family in Winnipeg, who discover a portal to Askí, a land of talking animals rooted in Cree storytelling, and the village of Misewa. Across the series they return to Askí again and again, travel back in time, and face threats that spill between the two worlds, while learning about their own culture and families. Robertson is a member of Norway House Cree Nation.
