Overview

Blake Charlton's Spellwright Trilogy is built on one of fantasy's more original magic systems, in which spells are texts composed in magical languages, and order, language and spelling are power. Nicodemus Weal is a cacographer, a spellwright whose touch misspells any magical text, a condition modelled on the author's own dyslexia, and so is barred from becoming the prophesied Halcyon despite having every other sign of it. The trilogy follows him from the wizardly academy of Starhaven through the demon Typhon's plot to bring about the Disjunction, a prophesied demonic invasion, and on to the next generation, with his wife Francesca DeVega and their daughter Leandra.
