Synopsis
The most dangerous people are those who set out to make the whole world happy free of charge and with no right to refuse, especially when they hold high magic. The famed Guild of Combat Mages is losing ground: it retreats, loses fighters, worlds burn and strongholds fall, and the Valley of Mages is threatened. Klara Hümmel is sure blades will settle it, the valkyrie Raina bets on honor, Richard d'Assini on cunning and the creature hunter Evarha on plain common sense. Evarha, caught by chance at the center of events, senses someone's malicious will behind them, though whose is not yet clear.
