Synopsis
Set in the Lands of Corza at the end of their age of absolutism, the second novel is an independent story in the same world. Eiron, nephew of the Count of Ambroc, has struggled all his life to free himself from the manipulations he endured until his uncle's death. But the game of influence does not end with the vacant throne: a strange shadow surrounds it, Eiron finds himself used once more as a piece in a dangerous contest of factions, and when he refuses to conform he is sent into exile. Far from the conspirators' reach, he sets off a full civil war in order to expose the hideous secret behind a regicide, without ever quite escaping the bloody legacy of his own roots. The author builds the fiction on the customs and institutions of a chronologically defined past, with a cast of fictionally historical characters.
