Synopsis

Blood Bound continues the Mercy Thompson series in the Tri-Cities, where Mercy, a mechanic and shapeshifter still adjusting to her renewed ties with the local werewolf pack, agrees to a seemingly small favor for a vampire acquaintance. Asked to deliver a message on his behalf, she instead finds herself drawn into a far more dangerous investigation involving a rogue vampire sorcerer whose activities have triggered a wave of unexplained violence in town. As Mercy digs deeper, she uncovers tensions within the local vampire seethe that complicate her efforts to identify the threat, while her relationship with Adam and his pack continues to develop under the strain of her outside entanglements. Balancing her ties to both the werewolf and vampire communities, Mercy must rely on her own resourcefulness and unusual set of contacts to make sense of a threat that reaches further than she initially expects.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.

  • Internal chronology, within Mercy Thompson / Alpha and Omega: position 3 of 20: previous Cry Wolf (2008) · next Hunting Ground (2009)
