Synopsis

Hunting Ground is the second novel in Patricia Briggs's Alpha and Omega series, picking up after Anna and Charles's mating in Cry Wolf. The two travel to Europe for a summit of dominant werewolves, where Charles's father Bran wants to present a controversial proposal for wolves to reveal their existence to the human world. Still adjusting to pack life and to each other, Anna is anxious about the gathering of powerful, dangerous Alphas from across the continent. When she is attacked by vampires who are drawing on pack magic, a kind of power that should belong only to werewolves, she and Charles realize someone at the summit is working against them. The couple must combine Anna's Omega gifts with Charles's tracking skills to identify who is behind the assault before the fragile diplomatic gathering collapses into open conflict.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.

  • Publication order, within the series Alpha and Omega: position 2 of 6: previous Cry Wolf (2008) · next Fair Game (2012)
  • Internal chronology, within Mercy Thompson / Alpha and Omega: position 4 of 20: previous Blood Bound (2007) · next Iron Kissed (2008)
