Synopsis
Bone Crossed continues the Mercy Thompson series when the injured vampire Stefan, badly hurt and seeking her help, warns Mercy that the mistress of the local vampire seethe has marked her as a traitor for her role in earlier events. With that threat hanging over her, Mercy travels to Spokane at a friend's request to investigate a troubling haunting in a family's home, hoping the trip will also offer some distance from the danger building at home. Once there, she finds herself entangled with a powerful and ancient vampire whose interest in her complicates the situation further, while Adam and the pack try to track the threat closing in around her from the Tri-Cities seethe. Balancing the haunting, her fraught position with the vampires, and her ongoing safety, Mercy relies on old allies and new information to navigate two crises unfolding at once.
