Synopsis
Dragons of Winter Night, the second novel of the Dragonlance Chronicles, follows the companions Tanis Half-Elven, Sturm Brightblade, Raistlin and Caramon Majere, Goldmoon, and their allies as they seek a permanent home for refugees displaced by the war. They travel to the city of Tarsis expecting a coastal haven, only to find it landlocked and in ruin, and there they encounter the elven princess Laurana and the Dragon Highlord Kitiara, Tanis's former lover, while learning of magical artifacts called Dragon Orbs capable of controlling dragons. When Tarsis is attacked and destroyed by dragon forces, the party is split, with some heading toward the elven homeland of Silvanesti and others toward Sancrist Isle. Separated and pursued, the companions must navigate treacherous politics and recover the Dragon Orbs and legendary weapons needed to stand against the invading Dragonarmies.
