Synopsis
The Patryn explorer Haplo, having completed his mission in Arianus, arrives on Pryan, a vast jungle world without visible sky or horizon, on a reconnaissance mission for his Lord. There he encounters the Quindiniar family, minor nobles among a struggling human community, and becomes entangled with a group of refugees fleeing tytans, mysterious and immensely powerful creatures that are systematically destroying the world's scattered civilizations. As Haplo travels with the Quindiniars and their companions across Pryan's endless jungle, hiding his own agenda while offering his considerable skills to their cause, the group works together to uncover the origins of the tytans and the secrets of a world whose ancient magical technology has fallen into disrepair, racing to find a way to survive an accelerating, seemingly unstoppable threat.
