Synopsis
The Artefacts of Power once belonged to the four branches of the Magefolk, but only human Mages remain and the Artefacts are lost. Aurian, a swordmistress and the child of renegade wizards, is still opposed by the Archmage Miathan. Stranded in the Southern Lands and weakened by pregnancy, she relies on Anvar, a half-blood Mage, as they travel toward the land of the Xandim, a people of horse shape, and on to the mountain-top city of the Skyfolk. Their search is for the Harp of Winds, the next Artefact. Miathan's schemes against them are only beginning to show.
