Synopsis
Hunter Gilliam and his huntbrother Stephen carry on the story begun in Hunter's Oath. To fulfil their oath they must leave their kingdom and journey to Averalaan, an ancient city that was once ruled by the Lord of the Hells and corrupted by him. The Lord of the Hells wants to win back power over the mortal lands, and the two men must face him. They travel with the guidance of the seer Yvaine, and the journey tests the bond between them as well as their courage. The book carries the characters out of Breodanir and into the wider empire of Essalieyan.
