Synopsis

Dorina "Dory" Basarab is a dhampir, half human and half vampire. Her violent rages usually shorten dhampir lives, but she keeps her sanity by hunting vampires and demons who deserve to die. When her vampire father returns and her infamous uncle, Dracula, escapes from prison, she must team up with Louis-Cesare, a master vampire, to put him back. Dory would rather work alone, since vampires and dhampirs are enemies, but Dracula is the one thing she fears, so she will accept any help she can get.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.

  • Publication order, within the series Dorina Basarab: position 1 of 7: next Death's Mistress (2010)
  • Internal chronology, within Cassandra Palmer: position 2 of 24: previous Touch the Dark (2006) · next Junk Magic (2022)
