Synopsis
Queste is the fourth novel in the Septimus Heap series, opening with Nicko and Snorri Snorrelssen still trapped in the House of Foryx, the place where all times meet, following the events of Physik. The ghost Tertius Fume sets Septimus a quest to travel there and bring the pair home, sending him off with Jenna and his friend Beetle on a journey through unfamiliar and dangerous territory. Complicating their mission is Merrin Meredith, once Septimus's rival, who now possesses the sinister Two-Faced Ring and is scheming to darken Septimus's destiny for the ancient sorcerer Hotep-Ra's own ends. As the group pieces together a map that shifts and changes to guide them toward Foryx, they must contend with the risks of moving through time itself and with Merrin's hidden interference, all while trying to reach their stranded friends before it is too late.
