Synopsis
In the sixth novel of the main Nightside sequence, private eye John Taylor faces what may be his most dangerous case yet: a confrontation with his own mother, the ancient being who created the Nightside and who, he comes to learn, now intends to destroy it. Taylor regards the Nightside as his home and is determined to stop her, whatever the cost of standing against a parent whose power and age far exceed his own. Complicating matters further is a troubling prophecy that suggests the outcome may already be fixed against him, hinting that both the Nightside and the wider world could be facing catastrophe regardless of what Taylor manages to do.
