Synopsis

In the seventh novel of the main Nightside sequence, private investigator John Taylor is hired by a wealthy and powerful immortal known as the Griffin to find his kidnapped granddaughter somewhere within the hidden London district. Complicating the case, Taylor discovers that his own special gift for finding things has been mysteriously blocked, leaving him unable to rely on the supernatural talent that normally defines his work as a detective. Forced to fall back on conventional investigative methods and old contacts, Taylor pursues the case through the Nightside's underworld even as a growing power vacuum among its rulers threatens to destabilize the district around him, adding urgency and danger to an already difficult search.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Nightside main sequence): No further main-sequence novel has been found published since The Bride Wore Black Leather (2012); a short-story collection, Tales from the Nightside (2015), exists in the same setting but is not catalogued in this admission. No confirmed major-award nomination was found for this series after a genuine search; this is an honest "none found," not an unresolved lead.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
