Synopsis
The original tarot deck, a set of cards said to be the source of all later packs, is kept by a family of Romani descent. A legacy that includes the cards passes to the father of a young woman who is engaged to a man from that family. The family also keeps an intricate figure of dancing images that match the trump cards. Those who understand the deck can see across space and time, and may even call up storms and forces of nature. As the powers of the cards become known, the engaged couple and their families are drawn into a dangerous contest over them.
