Synopsis
With Lestat left unconscious following the events of Memnoch the Devil, The Vampire Armand shifts focus as David Talbot persuades the ancient vampire Armand to finally tell his own long-guarded story. Armand recounts his mortal life as a gifted icon painter in fifteenth-century Kyivan Rus, his capture and enslavement, and his eventual purchase by the powerful vampire Marius, who transforms him and takes him under his protection. The narrative follows Armand's development under Marius's guidance and his later years building and leading a coven of vampires in Paris, tracing how the boy taken from his homeland became one of the vampire world's most enigmatic figures, with consequences that echo through the rest of the series.
