Synopsis

The Windsingers, published by Robin Hobb under the name Megan Lindholm in 1984, is the second novel of the Windsingers series. Vandien still carries a facial scar from the harpy encounter of the previous book, and, unknown to Ki, sets out to steal treasure from the Windsingers, mysterious beings who control the weather through song, hoping their wealth might somehow pay for a cure. Ki, meanwhile and unaware of Vandien's plan, accepts a seemingly ordinary hauling job from a wizard named Dresh, not realizing he is manipulating her into leading him straight into the Windsingers' hidden realm. As Dresh's true intentions toward the Windsinger Rebeke become clear, Ki and Vandien find themselves caught in the middle of a confrontation between human ambition and a power neither of them fully understands, testing both their partnership and Ki's growing feelings for her scarred companion.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Windsingers): Also known as the Ki and Vandien Quartet, published under the author's Megan Lindholm pen name; her 4th universe in this canon, alongside Realm of the Elderlings, the Soldier Son Trilogy (both as Robin Hobb), and Wizard of the Pigeons (also as Megan Lindholm). Confirmed genuinely separate from all three: no shared characters, setting, or continuity.
