Overview
A completed debut trilogy set in a land where the worship of gods was outlawed and most gods were killed. It follows Kissen, a godkiller for hire; Skediceth, a small, outlawed god of white lies who survives regardless by being too minor and useful to bother destroying; and Elogast, a knight who gave up his life at court, as their paths cross while a vengeful fire god threatens the kingdom. Hannah Kaner's Godkiller (2023), Sunbringer (2024) and Faithbreaker (2025) trace the uneasy alliance between a woman sworn to kill gods and a god who can only survive by staying small and useful, complicated further by Elogast's own guilt-driven return to a court he fled years earlier. The trilogy was a notable UK debut success, with Godkiller longlisted for several genre awards and Kaner quickly established as a prominent new voice in British epic fantasy.
